The purpose of this liquid filled sack is unknown. This area is not as heavily armored as the rest of a Tentacle and thus is susceptible to damage if a weapon is fired at it. This spot connects the "stem" and "tip" areas of a Tentacle. Located in between the "tip" and "stem" area, a large sack filled with yellow glowing liquid can be seen. This area is heavily armored and resistant to damage from any weapons that Isaac may use against it. They appear to be formed from muscle tissue, internal organs and possibly bone. That’s part of the horror aspect of it, just finding things that psychologically resonate with people as freaky.Tentacles are either stationary Necromorphs that belong to no other creature or they are part of a bigger Necromorph. Not only so they remember what kind of enemy it is so they know what strategy to use, but just so that it’s marked on their brain.

And then we usually we do a culling pass where engineering gets involved and they go ‘Okay, you can’t have 20 tentacles coming out of this thing cause we just can’t render that.’ And you start honing things down and trying to figure out what’s going to be the most effective use of the asset.
